Ibom Air Aims for ₦150 Billion Profit in 2025

Ibom Air is hoping to make ₦150 billion profit in 2025, which is more than the ₦96 billion it made in 2024.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr George Uriesi, shared this at the Ibom Air Travel Agents Forum held on Friday in Lagos.

He said that six per cent of the ₦96 billion profit in 2024 came from travel agents across Nigeria. According to him, the airline is growing and plans to change how airline business works in the country.

Uriesi also said that Ibom Air would join the General Distribution System before the end of 2025. This will make it easier for travel agents around the world to find and book flights with Ibom Air.

Speaking about flight delays and cancellations, Uriesi said the airline now keeps one plane on standby to handle such problems. However, he noted that this is not good for the airline’s profit.

He added that Ibom Air is working hard to give better customer service.

The airline also plans to start flights to new cities—Malabo in Equatorial Guinea, Douala in Cameroon, and São Tomé and Príncipe—from its base in Uyo.

Uriesi said the new terminal in Uyo, which is nearly ready, will be used as a hub for flights across Africa. He also mentioned that Ibom Air helped design the terminal to match its growth plans.

During the forum, Uriesi also listened to travel agents’ concerns about ticket prices, online discounts, paystack fees, and refunds.

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents and the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria were at the event. Some travel agents received certificates for their work with Ibom Air over the past six months.
